Introduction to Appmaker at NITH

After being accepted as an official firefox student ambassadors club, we organized our first mozilla event in the campus.

We organized a workshop on Introduction to mozilla appmaker on April 25, 2015. The workshop was attended by students of all branches of NIT Hamirpur. The session on mozilla appmaker was headed by Sagar Karira, 3rd year, CSE.
Introduction to Appmaker at NITH

The sight of so many students working on their laptops and creating something of their own was amazing. Each one was busy with giving wings to their thoughts and creativity.

Many demo applications were also showed to the participating students. The workshop covered almost each component of the mozilla appmaker.

Apart from this, there were talks on various useful extensions of firefox and net neutrality headed by Rohan Jaswal from 2nd year, CSE. Some of the extensions which were covered in the session were -
  • Greasemonkey
  • firebug
  • sqlitemanager
  • foxyproxy
  • Adblock plus
Students found the use of these extensions very interesting. The level of curiosity was very high when they came to know that they could run their own scripts on webpages using greasemonkey and could do anything they want.

We hope to see some cool apps on firefox marketplace published by the creative developers of NIT Hamirpur.

Also, we would come back with more interesting events in the next semester.

Thanks for reading!
